On September 13, 2026, in Des Moines, one of Kansas City’s favorite blues musicians, Ron Teamer, passed on. Ron was the essence of that brand of old school blues musician who isn’t loud or flashy; just a solid performer who knew how to showcase his skills through his vocals and instruments. That’s how he reeled you in and then wowed you with his raw talent and quiet confidence.
Ron and his band represented the Kansas City Blues Society (KCBS) twice at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. He regularly hosted jams and performed around the metro area until health issues slowed him down. He was also just a wonderful person who will be missed. Rest in power, Ron!
