Introducing the New Board of Directors Members

For the first time in several years, the KCBS Board of Directors is fully staffed with eleven members as allowed in the by-laws. We salute these four blues lovers joining Donna Lunnon, Dennis Nelson, Craig Smith, Curt Straub, Charles “Dutch” Metzker, Cory Bryars, and Betty Berry for wanting to work towards making the organization the best it can be:

William (Willy) Simmons
As President, Willy plans to focus on growing the membership and building relationships with potential donors to fund and expand KCBS projects.

David Galletly
Dave has a great appreciation for blues music after learning it was the foundation for rock n/roll music. He is a retiree who had been searching for something meaningful to do and felt the KCBS would be a wonderful opportunity. He’s ready to support and promote our strong blues scene in the Kansas City metro area.

Pat Riehle
As a BOD member, Pat wants to focus on increasing membership and expanding access to this music genre that is so central to our American heritage. Pat is also a programmer on KKFI 90.1fm, and he plays a lot of blues on the Happy Hour show on Thursdays from 4 – 6pm.

Larry Thrasher
Larry is a former Board member who wants to get the Blues in the Schools program up and running again. He feels it’s critical to attract younger musicians to the KCBS as they are our future in keeping the blues alive.
