The excitement continues as the Kansas City Blues Society (KCBS) proudly announces that our “Road to Memphis” winners-the top band, duo, and youth band from Kansas City’s local International Blues Challenge (IBC) are preparing to represent our community on a national stage in Memphis, TN, in January 2026. These talented musicians have earned their place through hard work and exceptional performances and now set out to showcase Kansas City’s blues spirit among participants from around the world.
You can show your support and help them finance their journey by attending their upcoming performances:
- Black HOK (Youth Band) – making their Knuckleheads debut on December 27, performing with the Free Rent band at 6:30 p.m.
- The Marcus Rattler Band and The Redbeards (duo) – performing at BB’s Lawnside BBQ, 1205 E. 85th Street, Kansas City, MO, on January 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
- The Marcus Rattler Band and The Redbeards – appearing at the Englewood Arts Center, 10901 E. Winner Road, Independence, MO, on January 4, 2026.
